National Democratic Front announces 131 candidates for 119 seats

The National Democratic Front (NDF), an electoral alliance led by the Jatiya Party (JaPa) and Jatiya Party (JP), on Tuesday (December 23) announced 131 candidates for 119 constituencies ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Some constituencies feature multiple candidates.

The announcement was made at a press conference in a Banani hotel, where Jatiya Party Executive Chairman Mujibul Haque Chunnu read out the names of the nominees.

Formed on December 9, the NDF comprises 18 political parties, including factions of the Jatiya Party led by Anisul Islam Mahmud and Anwar Hossain Manjur, Bangladesh JP, Janata Party Bangladesh, Trinomul BNP, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Andolon, Bangladesh Cultural Liberation Front, Gonofront, Bangladesh Muslim League (Mohsin Rashid), Jatiya Islamic Mohajote, Bangladesh Shadhin Party, Alliance Democratic Party, Bangladesh Gonotantrik Andolon, Democratic Party, Jatiya Sanskritik Jote, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) (Shahjahan Siraj), United Democratic Party, and Gono Andolon.
