National Eidgah ready for Eid prayers, main congregation at 8:30am

All preparations have been completed for the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the National Eidgah in the capital, with the main congregation scheduled to be held at 8:30am.

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Abdus Salam made the announcement on Monday (March 16) while inspecting the venue.

He said the prime minister will also offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah this year and invited city residents wishing to pray alongside her to arrive at the venue on time.

According to the DSCC administrator, the Eidgah can accommodate around 35,000 worshippers. Considering the warm weather, efforts will be made to cool certain areas of the venue. Adequate arrangements for fans and lighting have also been ensured.

Facilities including ablution areas, separate entry points for women, mobile toilets and first-aid services have been arranged for the convenience of worshippers.

Officials of Dhaka South City Corporation were also present during the inspection of the overall preparations at the National Eidgah.

However, the timing may be adjusted if there is rainfall.
