The national flag was placed on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's car for the first time today after he assumed office. The Prime Minister's Office confirmed the matter. On the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day on Thursday, the flag was seen flying on the vehicle carrying the Prime Minister as he travelled to and from the National Memorial in Savar to lay a wreath in the early morning. Later, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived at the Independence Day parade in a vehicle bearing the national flag.

প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে তারেক রহমান দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের পর প্রথমবারের মতো আজই তাঁর গাড়ির স্ট্যান্ডে জাতীয় পতাকা সংযুক্ত করা হয়েছে। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয় থেকে বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করা হয়েছে। মহান স্বাধীনতা ও জাতীয় দিবস উপলক্ষে আজ বৃহস্পতিবার ভোরে সাভারে জাতীয় স্মৃতিসৌধে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করতে যাওয়া-আসার সময় প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে বহনকারী গাড়িতে পতাকা উড়তে দেখা যায়। এরপর স্বাধীনতা ও জাতীয় দিবসের প্যারেড অনুষ্ঠানেও জাতীয় পতাকাবাহী গাড়িতে আসেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমান।
