The National University has postponed two examinations scheduled for Thursday (July 16), citing widespread flooding caused by heavy rainfall and onrushing water from upstream, while all other previously announced dates and schedules remain unchanged.

The decision was announced in two separate office orders issued Tuesday (July 14) by the university's Controller of Examinations office, according to a notice signed by Taiyeba Tasnim Siraj, acting director of the university's public relations department.

One order postponed the Preliminary to Masters examination of the 2023 batch, originally scheduled for July 16, and rescheduled it for August 11 (Tuesday).

The second order deferred the compulsory English examination, subject code 121101, for the 2024 Degree (Pass) and Certificate Course third year, also originally set for July 16. That exam will now be held on July 25 (Saturday).

The university said all other examinations under the previously published routine would proceed as scheduled, with no further changes announced.

The postponements come days after Dhaka University suspended all of its examinations for a single day earlier this month, citing continuing heavy rain, waterlogging across campus and adverse weather conditions affecting students, as flooding linked to the monsoon continues to disrupt academic activity in parts of the country.
