Nationwide mobile court crackdown files 191 cases over fuel irregularities
Mobile courts across the country conducted 391 drives yesterday targeting fuel-related irregularities, resulting in 191 cases and fines totaling Tk 9,35,070, according to official sources.
Three individuals were sentenced to jail on various terms. One person was sentenced to two-month imprisonment in Satkhira, one person sentenced to one year in Chandpur and another was sentenced to one month in prison in Gazipur.
During the drives, authorities recovered a total of 87,700 litres of illegally stored fuel. This included 67,400 litres of diesel, 6,444 litres of octane, and 13,856 litres of petrol.
The drives are being carried out under the supervision of magistrates from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division as part of ongoing nationwide enforcement efforts.
