Navana Group Vice-Chairman Sajedul Islam held

Police have arrested Navana Group Vice-Chairman Sajedul Islam Shuvro from his Banani residence in a case filed over alleged violations of labour laws.

Mahbubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station confirmed the news on Wednesday (24 June) morning.

The OC said that an arrest warrant was earlier issued against Sajedul Islam in connection with a case filed at Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station. After arrest, Sajedul was sent to court in the morning.

Earlier around 11:00pm on Tuesday (23 June), a joint team from Tejgaon Industrial Area and Banani police stations conducted a raid at House No. 54 on Road No. 15 in Banani’s D Block. Law enforcers reportedly faced repeated obstacles while trying to enter the building.

According to police, the building’s security personnel did not cooperate with officers, while drivers and bodyguards present at the premises behaved disorderly.

Following an overnight operation, police arrested Navana Group Vice Chairman Sajedul Islam Shuvro from the residence early Wednesday morning.
