NBR transfers 555 assistant revenue officers
National Board of Revenue (NBR) has transferred and reassigned 555 assistant revenue officers across the country.
The decisions were announced on Tuesday through two separate government gazette notifications.
In one notification signed by Tanvir Ahmed, Second Secretary of NBR’s Customs and VAT Administration Branch-3, 459 assistant revenue officers were transferred and reassigned. Another notification signed by the same Second Secretary listed transfers and reassignments for 96 more assistant revenue officers.
The notifications said that the orders were issued in the public interest and are effective immediately.
Earlier, on Monday (15 September), NBR had transferred and reassigned 182 assistant revenue officers. Over the past few months, NBR has been reshuffling officers and employees across various levels of the organisation.
Several officers and staff members involved in the NBR abolition movement have also been temporarily suspended.
Meanwhile, Abu Hasan Mohammad Khairul Islam, Tax Inspector of Circle-4 under Gazipur Tax Zone, who is currently in jail for alleged involvement in money laundering, has been temporarily suspended by NBR.
