Leaders of the National Citizen Party (NCP) paid tribute to the language martyrs at the Central Shaheed Minar shortly after midnight marking Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day. The party leaders placed wreaths at the memorial in the early hours of Friday to honour those who sacrificed their lives in the 1952 Language Movement. Among those present were NCP Convener Md Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwari, Spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan and Southern Region Chief Organiser Hasnat Abdullah, along with other central leaders. After laying the wreaths, the leaders recalled the sacrifices of the language martyrs and called for unity in upholding the dignity and status of the Bangla language.

মহান শহীদ দিবস ও আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস উপলক্ষে ভাষা শহীদদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানিয়েছে জাতীয় নাগরিক পার্টি (এনসিপি)। শুক্রবার (২০ ফেব্রুয়ারি) দিবাগত রাতের প্রথম প্রহরে কেন্দ্রীয় শহীদ মিনারে পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণের মাধ্যমে দলটির নেতারা শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন। এ সময় এনসিপির আহ্বায়ক মো. নাহিদ ইসলাম, সদস্য সচিব আখতার হোসেন, মুখ্য সমন্বয়ক নাসীরুদ্দীন পাটোয়ারী, মুখপাত্র আসিফ মাহমুদ সজিব ভূঁইয়া এবং দক্ষিণাঞ্চলের মুখ্য সংগঠক হাসনাত আব্দুল্লাহসহ কেন্দ্রীয় নেতারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদনের পর তারা ভাষা আন্দোলনের শহীদদের আত্মত্যাগ স্মরণ করে বাংলা ভাষার মর্যাদা রক্ষায় সবাইকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ থাকার আহ্বান জানান।
