NCTB, five education boards get new chairmen

The government has appointed new chairmen to the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and several education boards, including Dhaka, Barishal, Jashore, and the Madrasa Education Board.

The appointments were issued through separate notifications on Sunday (June 7) by the Ministry of Education.

According to the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the ministry, National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has been assigned a new chairman, along with changes in leadership across multiple education boards.

Professor Mohammad Fakhrul Mawla, vice-principal of Government Commerce College, Chattogram, has been appointed as the new chairman of NCTB.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, controller of examinations of Mymensingh Education Board, has been appointed chairman of the Dhaka Education Board.

Professor Khandaker Mohammad Sadekur Rahman, secretary of Cumilla Education Board, has been appointed chairman of the Madrasa Education Board.

Professor Farukhe Azam Md. Abdus Salam, principal of Haji Muhammad Mohsin College in Khulna, has been named chairman of the Jessore Education Board.

Meanwhile, Professor Abu Taher Mohammad Rasheduzzaman, vice-principal of Government Brojomohun College, Barishal, has been appointed chairman of the Barishal Education Board.

Officials said the appointments aim to strengthen administrative efficiency and improve academic oversight across the country’s education sector.
