Nearly half fail HSC exams

More than 623,000 students failed the HSC and equivalent examinations 2026. This year’s average pass rate stood at 52.12 percent, meaning nearly half of the examinees could not pass.

On Saturday (October 31) at around 11am, the results of all 11 education boards were published simultaneously. Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon formally inaugurated the announcement of the results.

According to the published results, a total of 646,685 students passed this year. Of them, 40,084 secured GPA-5. Meanwhile, 623,898 examinees failed.

Students can learn their results from the Ministry of Education website, the websites of the respective education boards, examination centres and their own institutions. Results will also be available by SMS.

Institutions can download results from eduboardresults.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd. They have been asked to go to the “Result” section of the website, select the relevant board and use the institution’s EIIN number.
