New DCs appointed in 11 districts
The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 11 districts of the country. A notification in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (March 28).
The districts where new DCs were appointed are Rajshahi, Chuadanga, Khulna, Madaripur, Brahmanbaria, Chandpur, Habiganj, Narsingdi, Meherpur, Lalmonirhat and Bandarban.
Sources in the Ministry of Public Administration said that the reshuffle has been made with the aim of bringing dynamism to administrative activities, improving the quality of services at the field level and strengthening the implementation of government policy programs.
Generally, Deputy Commissioners are responsible for the overall administrative activities of the respective district. Their role is important in maintaining law and order, land management, supervising development activities and implementing various government policies.
The newly appointed DCs have been instructed to join the government quickly in the government notification. At the same time, necessary guidelines have also been given to ensure that the ongoing administrative activities of the concerned districts remain uninterrupted.
