New ministers, state ministers pay tribute at National Memorial

The newly appointed ministers and state ministers have paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar.

On Saturday (August 22) afternoon, around 1:15pm, Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat, and Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Saching Pru Jerry arrived at the National Memorial. Information and Broadcasting Minister Barrister Andalib Rahman Partho arrived shortly after.

The two new state ministers; Humayun Kabir (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Mohammad Shamim Kayser Lincoln (Ministry of Religious Affairs), also paid their respects.

They laid floral wreaths and stood in silence for some time in honour of the martyrs. After paying their tributes, they signed the visitors' book at the National Memorial.

Anwar Hossain Anu, sub-divisional engineer of the Public Works Department at the National Memorial in Savar, confirmed that the ministers and state ministers had paid their respects. He said the memorial grounds were reopened to the public after the ministers and state ministers departed.
