The newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah Ul Azim, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday (July 25). During the meeting, discussions were held on maritime security, enhancing the Navy's professional capabilities, modernisation of the force and various related issues. The Prime Minister praised the professionalism and vital role of the Navy in protecting the country's sovereignty and wished the newly appointed Navy chief success in his duties. In response, Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah Ul Azim expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and assured him of utmost sincerity in the Navy's development and discharging its duties.

বাংলাদেশ নৌবাহিনীর নবনিযুক্ত প্রধান ভাইস অ্যাডমিরাল খোন্দকার মিসবাহ উল আজীম প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমানের সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেছেন। শনিবার (২৫ জুলাই) প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ে এ সাক্ষাৎ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সাক্ষাৎকালে দেশের সামুদ্রিক নিরাপত্তা, নৌবাহিনীর পেশাগত সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি, বাহিনীর আধুনিকায়ন এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে মতবিনিময় হয়। এ সময় প্রধানমন্ত্রী দেশের সার্বভৌমত্ব রক্ষায় নৌবাহিনীর পেশাদারিত্ব ও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকার প্রশংসা করেন এবং নবনিযুক্ত নৌবাহিনী প্রধানের দায়িত্ব পালনে সাফল্য কামনা করেন। জবাবে ভাইস অ্যাডমিরাল খোন্দকার মিসবাহ উল আজীম প্রধানমন্ত্রীর প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন এবং নৌবাহিনীর উন্নয়ন ও দায়িত্ব পালনে সর্বোচ্চ আন্তরিকতার আশ্বাস দেন।
