New President to move to Bangabhaban on Sunday
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will move to Bangabhaban on Sunday, according to the President's Office.
He will leave his official residence on Mintu Road for Bangabhaban at 10:50am on Sunday. After arriving at Gate No. 2 of Bangabhaban, a police contingent will escort him to the Guard of Honour podium, where a smartly turned-out contingent of the President's Guard Regiment will present him with a Guard of Honour.
The President will then proceed to his office at Bangabhaban.
Earlier on Friday evening, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir took oath as the 23rd President of the country. He was elected as the BNP candidate with 255 votes in the presidential election held in Parliament.
The President's Office said the new President will pay tribute at the National Martyrs' Memorial on Saturday at 9:30am. After laying wreaths, he will be given a Guard of Honour by the three services.
After the tribute, he will return to his official residence on Mintu Road, before heading to his Gulshan residence.
