The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has said there is no real basis for the recent concerns or threats of possible attacks on the country's key installations. However, law enforcement agencies remain on high alert to tackle any kind of risk.

Speaking at a press conference at the RAB Media Centre in Karwan Bazar, capital, on Tuesday, April 28, RAB-2 Commanding Officer Additional DIG Md Khalidul Haque Howlader said they are not currently seeing any such threat.

Based on intelligence information, RAB conducted raids in the capital's Mohammadpur and Paltan areas on April 27 and arrested several armed individuals, the force informed at the press conference. Arms, bullets, knives, and drugs were recovered from the arrestees.

Regular patrols and surveillance have been intensified in key areas of the capital, RAB officials said. Twenty-four patrol teams are working in three shifts in Mohammadpur, Adabor, Dhanmondi, New Market and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar areas. Checkposts are also being set up as needed.

Intelligence surveillance and operation activities will continue in the future to ensure public safety, RAB officials said.
