Rumeen Farhana, the independent Member of Parliament for Brahmanbaria-2 constituency, has expressed her anger over the gas crisis and deficiencies in civic services through a Facebook post on Saturday, September 5. In her post, she wrote, "No gas no bill, no service no tax." Earlier, during the third session of the 13th Parliament, she had expressed her frustration over the ongoing gas and electricity supply situation under Rule 71. Highlighting public suffering, she said in parliament that people remark about gas and electricity: "Tuku ashe tuku jay" (it comes and goes unpredictably), meaning they cannot understand when it comes, when it goes and for how long it remains.

গ্যাস সংকট ও নাগরিক সেবার ঘাটতি নিয়ে সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যম ফেসবুকে ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেছেন ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া-২ আসনের স্বতন্ত্র সংসদ সদস্য রুমিন ফারহানা। শনিবার (৫ সেপ্টেম্বর) নিজের ফেসবুক অ্যাকাউন্ট থেকে দেওয়া এক পোস্টে তিনি লেখেন, ‘নো গ্যাস নো বিল, নো সার্ভিস নো ট্যাক্স’—অর্থাৎ গ্যাস না থাকলে বিল নয়, সেবা না মিললে কর নয়। এর আগে ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদের তৃতীয় অধিবেশনে ৭১ বিধিতে দেওয়া বক্তব্যে দেশের চলমান গ্যাস ও বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেছিলেন রুমিন ফারহানা। জনদুর্ভোগের চিত্র তুলে ধরে সংসদে তিনি বলেন, গ্যাস ও বিদ্যুতের বিষয়ে মানুষ বলে—‘টুকু আসে টুকু যায়’। অর্থাৎ কখন আসে, কখন যায় এবং কতক্ষণ থাকে, তা মানুষ বুঝতে পারে না।
