No information on Arakan Army chief's treatment in Bangladesh: FM
Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman has said there is no information regarding reports that the chief of the Arakan Army is receiving medical treatment in Bangladesh.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, July 5.
When asked whether the foreign ministry had any information about the reported treatment of the injured Arakan Army chief, Khalilur Rahman said, "I have no information on this matter."
The Myanmar military has intensified attacks against the Arakan Army along the border, raising concerns among Bangladeshi citizens on this side of the frontier. The situation has also created a risk of further Rohingya infiltration.
When asked about the government's steps regarding the border situation, the foreign minister said, "We are monitoring the border situation. We have increased surveillance along the border."
