No intractable issues between Bangladesh, India: Info Minister

There are no issues between Bangladesh and India that cannot be resolved, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon said, stressing that the government is working to address outstanding matters through dialogue.

He made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists after attending an event at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka marking International Youth Day Wednesday (August 12).

The minister said Indian Ambassador Dinesh Trivedi had told Prime Minister Tarique Rahman during a recent meeting that there were no unresolved crises between the two countries that could not be addressed.

“He has gone to speak with Narendra Modi carrying positive messages from Bangladesh. We are waiting for positive outcomes,” Swapon said.

Asked about reports circulating on social media that the government had lifted restrictions on the Awami League, the minister said the government had not taken notice of any such development and was not giving the reports importance.

Swapon also highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence, saying the government was working to help young people develop their skills and prepare for future challenges.

“Today is the age of artificial intelligence. Young people must come forward to meet the challenges of tomorrow,” he said.

Youth and Sports Minister Aminul Haque attended the event as a special guest.
