BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that no one will be spared if they commit corruption while in power. He assured that the BNP government will not do politics of building houses in Dhaka or abroad—even in Canada.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at a family card distribution ceremony among 588 beneficiaries at Rahimanpur UI Alim Madrasa ground in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila on Tuesday (March 10).

Mirza Fakhrul said that the people should be assured—the government has come to work for the people and will do that work. If anyone is involved in corruption, he will not be forgiven in any way. He urged the people to have confidence in this matter.

He further said, “We do not have any other separate issues. We will not build houses in Dhaka, nor will we build houses abroad—not even in Canada. We want to work for the people of the country.”

The LGRD Minister called on everyone to work together to build the country and said that we must move forward in a new way without looking at the mistakes or losses of the past. He said that if we want to ensure education for the country’s children, employment creation, and healthcare for all, we need to work together.

Mirza Fakhrul said that there is no power greater than the power of the people. He said, “Our Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has launched this family card program. We pray for him and express our gratitude. I hope he will be able to implement all the promises he made to the people.”
