No parole application filed for Saddam: Home Ministry

The Home Ministry has clarified that no application has been submitted for the parole release of Juel Hasan Saddam, president of the banned Chhatra League unit in Bagerhat Sadar, currently detained at Jashore Central Jail.

In a statement on Sunday (January 25), Deputy Chief Information Officer Faisal Hasan said Saddam’s family has not filed any formal request with the Jessore Deputy Commissioner, District Magistrate, or jail authorities regarding parole following the death of his wife and child. As per the family’s verbal wish, Saddam was allowed to see the bodies of his wife and child at the jail gate.

The statement emphasised that Jashore district administration and jail authorities extended maximum humanitarian support.

The ministry also addressed media reports claiming that a parole application had been submitted, calling them false and misleading.

It urged the media to ensure accurate and objective reporting to maintain public access to factual information.
