No political banners allowed in educational institutions: Railways Minister

No political banners will be allowed in educational institutions across the country, Railway Minister Habibur Rashid Habib has said. The government will take all necessary steps to ensure a proper and education-friendly environment in educational institutions, he added.

Speaking as chief guest at the annual sports competition and prize distribution ceremony at a educational institution in the capital on Saturday morning, April 11, the minister said effective measures will be taken to stop political banners in the future.

Habibur Rashid said the government is committed to rebuilding the country achieved through the July mass uprising and the sacrifice of martyr Sharif Osman Hadi. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the country will be established as a democratic state.

Steps have already been taken to remove all political banners and festoons in the post-election period, he added.

The minister reiterated the commitment to building a stronger and more stable state in the post-July uprising reality.
