No candidate recommended for assistant teacher positions in government primary schools will be left out of the recruitment process, Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has said. He stated that all 14,384 recommended candidates will be brought under the appointment process.

The minister was responding to questions from journalists at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Sunday, May 3, after a session of the Deputy Commissioners' Conference .

The recruitment process has already been completed, and the government is now following the necessary administrative procedures, the minister said. He expressed hope that appointment letters would be issued very soon .

The minister noted that while the previous government completed the recruitment process hastily, the current government is ensuring it is done in a disciplined and rule-based manner.

Newly appointed teachers may initially receive training at Primary Training Institutes (PTI), with those failing the training not being considered for final appointment, the minister added. According to government rules, they will be made permanent after successfully completing two years of service.

The minister also said that appointments for 32,500 head teacher posts currently remain stalled due to various pending legal cases. Once these legal complexities are resolved, appointments to those posts will also be possible. In the future, another 32,500 teachers will need to be recruited. Additionally, there are around 15,000 vacant posts in government secondary schools. In total, approximately 77,000 teacher appointments are needed in the government system .

The final results for primary assistant teacher recruitment 2025 were published on February 8 . However, candidates began protesting from April 29 as they had not received their appointment letters even after more than two months .
