No specific information on Hadi killing suspect Faisal: Additional IGP

Additional Inspector General of Police Khondker Rafiqul Islam has said that there is no specific information about Faisal, the alleged killer of Inkilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

He made the statement at an emergency press conference at the home ministry on Sunday, December 21.

“We do not have specific information about Faisal’s last location. Our forces and intelligence agencies are working to obtain it. However, we have not received any reliable information that he has left the country. Often, confusion is deliberately spread regarding the whereabouts of criminals,” Rafiqul Islam said.

Asked whether any political party had been found to be involved in the killing, he said, “So far, we have not found the involvement of any specific political party. We are still trying to gather accurate information.”

DB chief Shafiqul Islam said at the briefing that the killing was initially believed to be politically motivated. “It does not appear to be driven by personal reasons. From the beginning, we were on the ground and all agencies worked in coordination. We are treating this with the highest priority and examining all possible angles,” he said.
