A Dhaka court has sent popular singer Mainul Ahsan Noble to jail cancelling his bail.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raju Ahmed passed the order on Thursday for allegedly violating the conditions of a settlement in a fraud case involving financial embezzlement.

According to the complainant’s lawyer Nasidus Zaman, Noble had allegedly violated the conditions set during his earlier release. The prosecution then filed a petition seeking cancellation of his bail. After hearing the arguments, the court cancelled his bail and ordered that he be sent to jail.

Earlier, the same court issued an arrest warrant against Noble and four others in the same case on February 2. Following the warrant, he was arrested on February 23 from the Bottola area of Siddhirganj in Narayanganj.

He was produced before the court the next day (February 24). After the hearing that day, the court granted him bail under certain settlement conditions, and he was released from the custody.

The case was filed on August 13 last year by a woman who claimed to be a victim. The court received the complaint and instructed the Police Bureau of Investigation to investigate the matter.

According to the allegations, Noble developed a romantic relationship with a young woman named Anannia Shabnam Rose. Between August 25, 2023, and June 2025, he allegedly took about Tk 13,18,540 from her by promising marriage. The complaint also states that the other accused assisted Noble in carrying out the alleged fraud.

After completing the investigation, Nuruzzaman submitted a report to the court on January 7 this year, confirming that the allegations had merit.

Apart from Noble, the other accused in the case are his mother Nazma Hossain, wife Israt Jahan Priya, assistant Munem Shah Soumik, and acquaintance Masud Rana.
