Seasonal nor’wester storms are expected to sweep across parts of the country on Wednesday (April 1), with gusty winds reaching up to 60 km/h, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

In a morning forecast, the Met Office said Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may experience squally weather by early afternoon, driven by westerly to northwesterly winds at speeds of 45–60 km/h.

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds are also likely. River ports in these regions have been advised to display signal No. 1.

In Dhaka and surrounding areas, the sky may remain partly cloudy, with a slight rise in daytime temperatures expected.

The capital recorded a temperature of 25.6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday morning, down from 26.7 degrees Celsius a day earlier. Sunset in Dhaka is expected at 6:14pm, while sunrise on Thursday will be at 5:50am.
