Nothing to celebrate in DUCSU election victory: Shishir Monir
Mohammad Shishir Monir, a Supreme Court lawyer and former Secretary General of Islami Chhatra Shibir, has urged students not to become excessively celebratory over their victory in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections, emphasizing the temporary nature of such successes.
In a post on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday (September 10), Monir wrote, “Victory and defeat have happened, are happening, and will happen. There is nothing to be overly jubilant about, nor is there any reason to be completely discouraged. Everything is temporary. Personality, leadership, and work are the true measures. I wish all the best to everyone.”
In the recent DUCSU elections, candidates supported by the Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed United Student Alliance secured victory in 23 out of 28 posts, including the positions of Vice President, General Secretary, and Assistant General Secretary.
