A notification has been issued appointing Senior Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal as the 18th Attorney General of the country. The notification was issued on Wednesday, March 25. Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal is a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court and a member of the BNP's national executive committee. He is also serving as a member of the Bangladesh Bar Council. He is a former secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association. A former student of Dhaka University's Law Department, Kazal became a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association in 1996. He also worked as a journalist for some time.

দেশের ১৮তম অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল হিসেবে সুপ্রিম কোর্টের জ্যেষ্ঠ আইনজীবী ব্যারিস্টার রুহুল কুদ্দুস কাজল-কে নিয়োগ দিয়ে প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করা হয়েছে। বুধবার (২৫ মার্চ) এ সংক্রান্ত প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করা হয়। ব্যারিস্টার রুহুল কুদ্দুস কাজল সুপ্রিম কোর্টের জ্যেষ্ঠ আইনজীবী এবং বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল-এর জাতীয় নির্বাহী কমিটির সদস্য। তিনি বাংলাদেশ বার কাউন্সিলের সদস্য হিসেবেও দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন। এছাড়া তিনি সুপ্রিম কোর্ট আইনজীবী সমিতির সাবেক সম্পাদক ছিলেন। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আইন বিভাগের সাবেক শিক্ষার্থী কাজল ১৯৯৬ সালে সুপ্রিম কোর্ট আইনজীবী সমিতির সদস্য হন। তিনি কিছুদিন সাংবাদিকতাও করেছেন বলেও জানা যায়।
