Notification issued over office hours during Ramadan

The government has fixed office hours for all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions in the country, considering the time of Sehri and Iftar during the month of Ramadan.

A notification in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (February 8).

The notification said that the office hours have been fixed for all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions in the country, considering the time of Sehri and Iftar during the holy month of Ramadan. The offices will operate from 9 am to 3:30 pm.

It has also been informed that there will be a break for Zuhr prayers from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm.

However, the notification also stated that banks, insurance companies, other financial institutions, postal services, railways, hospitals and state-owned industrial institutions, factories and other institutions providing emergency services will determine and follow their own office hours according to their own laws or rules, considering the public interest.

The notification further states that the office hours of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and all courts under it will be determined by the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
