Nurul Haque Nur was seriously injured in a clash between police and Gono Odhikar Parishad activists in front of the Jatiya Party office.

The activists rescued Nur in a severe state and took him to the hospital.

A clash between JaPa and Gono Odhikar Parishad activists began in front of the Jatiya Party (JaPa) office at 6:15pm on Friday. Later, around 8:15pm, the leaders and activists of Gono Odhikar Parishad gathered in front of the JaPa office for the second time.

At that time, they chased and counter-chased with JaPa leaders and activists. Later, the army arrived at the scene and removed the JaPa leaders and activists. The law enforcement agencies immediately gave the Gono Odhikar Parishad leaders 10 minutes to leave the scene. When they did not leave the scene, a massive baton-charge took place, in which many people, including Nur, were injured.

The Jatiya Party, founded by former President Hussain Muhammad Ershad, has always participated in elections but has been criticized for its dual role. Opposition political parties have long complained that the Jatiya Party is actually playing a role in keeping the Awami League in power. That is why some parties, including the Gono Odhikar Parishad, are demanding a ban on the political activities of the Jatiya Party and the Awami League.
