Nurul Haque Nur shifted from ICU as condition improves
The physical condition of Gono Odhikar Parishad president and former DUCSU vice-president Nurul Haque Nur has improved. He has been shifted from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a cabin at Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital. On Monday (1 September) morning, Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman, director of DMCH, briefed journalists and confirmed the development.
The DMCH director said that Nurul Haque Nur is now much better than before. It will take four to six weeks for the broken bones in his nose and jaw to heal completely. However, on doctors’ advice, he is able to consume normal food.
Earlier in the morning, Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, adviser to the Ministry of Shipping, visited the hospital to see Nur. He enquired about Nur’s health and spoke with the doctors for some time. Several other leaders of Gono Odhikar Parishad are also currently undergoing treatment at DMCH.
Meanwhile, Gono Odhikar Parishad general secretary Rashed Khan said Nurul Haque Nur will file a case over the attack once he recovers.
