The government has changed the office schedule for government and private offices in response to the global fuel crisis caused by the Middle East war situation. Under the new decision, office hours have been reduced by one hour and set from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The new schedule will take effect from Sunday, April 5.

Currently, government offices run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The new decision will reduce office hours by one hour each day. Additionally, all shops and shopping malls have been instructed to close by 6:00 pm, effective from Friday, April 3.

The decisions were made at a cabinet meeting held on Thursday night, April 2.

Meanwhile, the government's power division has adopted a coordinated strategy to tackle the fuel crisis caused by the Middle East war.

Under this plan, a target has been set to save approximately 3,100 megawatts of electricity daily. As part of government expenditure cuts, the prime minister, ministers and state ministers will take 30 per cent less of their monthly fuel allocation for official vehicles. Interest-free loans for government officials to purchase vehicles have been suspended. Government-funded foreign training has been halted, and internal training expenses have been reduced by 50 percent.
