One held over attack on Sohag Paribahan counter, owner’s house in Malibagh
Police have arrested one person in connection with a violent attack on the Sohag Paribahan ticket counter and the residence of its owner, Ali Hasan Palash Talukder, in capita's Malibagh.
The incident took place on Wednesday (September 3) near the Malibagh rail gate, where attackers vandalised the counter and assaulted Palash Talukder and his driver, Mamun.
Mamun sustained serious injuries from sharp weapons, while Talukder was also hurt in the assault.
Talukder’s brother, Majedul Haque Nadim, alleged that the attack was led by Talukder Belal, president of the Ramna Thana Volunteer Party.
He claimed the attackers also attempted to break into the house but were stopped at the gate.
A case has been filed at Ramna Police Station against 16 people.
Golam Faruk, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station, confirmed that police identified suspects through CCTV footage and are working to arrest the remaining accused.
