They walked out of the session chamber shortly after the President's speech began in the parliament on Thursday (March 12).
When President Mohammad Shahabuddin began his speech in the parliament session, the opposition members first stood in their seats and protested for a while. Later, they left the parliament chamber en masse, brandishing placards.
The slogans on the placards included "No more betrayal with July" and "Stop the lack of credibility regarding the July uprising," referencing the July Uprising.
Amidst the chanting and display of placards, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed repeatedly called for order, urging the lawmakers to remain calm and allow the proceedings to continue.
