Opposition walks out from parliament

Opposition party members have walked out of the National Parliament session opposing the ‘Transfer and Property (Amendment) Bill 2026’. They left the session at 8:10pm on Sunday. Earlier they had also boycotted parliament during the public opinion verification of the same bill.

When the bill was placed in parliament for public opinion verification, opposition members first left the session at 7:56pm. They returned to parliament a few minutes later. Later at 8:10pm the opposition leader announced the walkout opposing the bill.

At that time the opposition leader said, “We will not be partners in passing this bill. So we are walking out now.”

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad Bir Bikram then told the opposition leader, “Thank you for walking out.”

The ‘Transfer and Property (Amendment) Bill 2026’ of the standing committee related to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs had been placed in parliament for public opinion verification.
