Osman Hadi is critical: Police

Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election and spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha, has been shot.

Police said that Hadi was shot below his left ear and his condition is critical.

Eyewitnesses said that after Friday prayers, shots were fired at Hadi during an election campaign in the Bijoynagar area of ​​Paltan in the capital. He was shot below his left ear.

In-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp Md. Faruk said that he was brought to the hospital shortly after 2:30pm on Thursday. His condition is critical.

SI Md. Selim of the DMCH police outpost said that Hadi was bleeding from his head. We believe that he was shot in the head. He has been taken to the emergency department of the Emergency Medical Services Unit.

Osman Hadi was taken to the emergency department of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital by Israfil Faraizi, one of the organizers of the July Unity.

DMP Motijheel Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Harun Or Rashid said: "We heard that he was shot in the Bijoynagar area. However, we are not sure about this, we have sent our team. We will be able to tell you more about this if the team confirms it to us."
