Osman Hadi is now in coma: Doctors

Inqilab Mancha spokesperson and independent Dhaka-8 candidate Sharif Osman Bin Hadi has been critically injured after being shot in the capital’s Bijoynagar area on Friday afternoon (December 12). He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors say he is now in a coma.

DMCH Emergency Department Resident Surgeon Dr Moshkat Ahmed confirmed that Hadi sustained a bullet wound to the head and described his condition as “extremely critical.”

According to witnesses, two armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi while he was campaigning in the Bijoynagar culvert area. He was brought to DMCH around 2:35pm.

DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Md Faruk confirmed his admission, saying, “He was taken to the hospital with gunshot injuries.”

Hadi’s political associates told reporters that he urgently requires B-negative blood.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Motijheel Division Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid said they had received information about the shooting. “A team has been sent to verify the incident. We will share details once they confirm,” he added.
