Osman Hadi’s body kept in NICVD's cold storage

The body of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha, has been placed in the cold storage of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Dhaka.

On Friday at 5:48pm, Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-585 carrying Hadi’s body landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. After completing formalities, the body was transported from Gate 8 to the NICVD.

Hadi’s funeral prayer will be held on Saturday at 2:30pm at the South Plaza of the National Parliament, after which he will be buried beside the grave of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

On December 12, Hadi was shot in the head while on a moving motorcycle during a public outreach in Dhaka’s Bijoynagar area. He underwent surgeries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Evercare Hospital before being flown to Singapore for advanced treatment. He passed away there on Thursday night.

In honour of Osman Hadi, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has declared a one-day state mourning on Saturday.
