Outgoing Navy Chief pays farewell call on Prime Minister
Outgoing Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan paid a farewell courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office in the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon (July 22).
Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu informed that discussions during the meeting focused on various key issues related to national interest, including the defense of national sovereignty, maritime security, and the modernization of the Navy.
During the call, the Prime Minister commended the outgoing Navy Chief's successful career, his leadership, and his contributions toward modernizing the Navy, increasing its capacity, and making the force more professional and robust.
On his part, Admiral M Nazmul Hassan expressed his gratitude for the Prime Minister's cooperation, guidance, and sincere support during his tenure.
Following the meeting, the Prime Minister hosted a lunch in honor of the outgoing Navy Chief.
It is worth noting that Admiral M Nazmul Hassan assumed office as the Chief of Naval Staff on July 24, 2023. He will hand over charge to the new Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Khondokar Misbah ul Azim on July 23.
