Parliament session to begin in March: Home Minister
The session of the 13th National Parliament will commence on March 12 or a day or two before that. Salahuddin Ahmed, member of BNP's standing committee and Home Minister, shared this information with the media on Saturday night.
The decision was made earlier in the day at a meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon, chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman worked at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon for the first time. However, this was his third working day as Prime Minister. Earlier, he worked for two days at the Bangladesh Secretariat. During meetings with ministers, many issues from the election manifesto were discussed and decisions were taken by the cabinet.
Salahuddin Ahmed said the Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be elected in this session. The ordinances promulgated during the interim government will be presented in this session, and a condolence motion will also be moved.
Before the meeting, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman entered the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon around 10:15 am. Principal Secretary A B M Abdus Sattar and Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Ruman welcomed the Prime Minister.
