Mahdi Amin, spokesperson of the National Parliamentary Election Management Committee and adviser to the BNP Chairperson, has said that black money, rigging, and various acts of violence were used in attempts to make the election controversial. In response, those who were on duty played a highly significant role, and the people set an example through united resistance. In many places, the public thwarted such malicious attempts.

He made these remarks at a press conference held on Thursday (February 12) in the afternoon at the BNP’s election management office in Gulshan.

Speaking at the press conference, he said, “The victory of the BNP is inevitable. This victory cannot be stopped in any way. The triumph of the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ is certain.”

He also thanked the interim government, the administration, the armed forces, and all responsible authorities for ensuring a fair election.

Mahdi Amin further alleged that in some areas there were instances of fake votes, pre-sealed ballots, and even votes cast in the names of deceased persons.

He claimed that a particular political party used social media in such a way as to create fear among the public. He also called on party leaders and activists to remain at polling centers until the final results are announced.
