People must stand by govt if polls face disorder: Adviser Sharmin
Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmin S Murshid has said the election will be held on schedule, and if anyone creates disorder during the polls, people must stand by the government.
She made the remarks on Saturday (September 6) while addressing as chief guest at a reception hosted by Capital School and College at Royal Resort in Sonargaon, Narayanganj, honouring GPA-5 achievers in the upcoming 2025 SSC and equivalent examinations.
Sharmin S Murshid said, “Under the leadership of Dr Yunus, the government is working to build the country. Sixteen years of irregularities and corruption cannot be eradicated in one year. However, the new Bangladesh government is taking special initiatives for children and women.”
She further said, “To ensure children’s safety, educational institutions must take responsibility along with parents. If we fail to guide our children properly, the nation will lag behind the world.”
The event was chaired by Md Mohsin Mia, chairman of the executive committee of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Ltd. Also present were Additional Deputy Commissioner Naima Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Farzana Rahman, Sonargaon Police Station OC (Investigation) Rasedul Hasan Khan, and Capital School and College president Akter Hossain, among others.
Crests were awarded to 199 meritorious students at the programme.
