Plans underway to operate Bogura Stolport, Lalmonirhat Airport

Plans are underway to operate Bogura Stolport and Lalmonirhat Airport as domestic airports, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita has said.

She made the remarks in response to a question from Jamalpur-2 MP A E Sultan Mahmood Babu during the question-answer session at the 13th National Parliament on Tuesday afternoon, March 31.

The minister said a feasibility study has been completed and plans are ready to develop Syedpur Airport into a regional airport by constructing an international-standard terminal building and extending the runway, along with necessary infrastructure development.

She further informed that development, modernisation and maintenance activities for all domestic airports across the country are regularly underway under the annual procurement plan of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
