PM advises ministers, MPs to remain dignified
BNP Chairperson, Leader of the House and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has advised ministers and members of parliament to remain cautious and dignified in their conduct and speech during the first meeting of the parliamentary party held at the National Parliament House on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister also instructed everyone to be cautious while speaking to the media. Tarique Rahman particularly emphasised that no one should comment beyond their designated responsibilities.
Tarique Rahman presided over the meeting. Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni delivered the welcome speech. Subsequently, BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed spoke. A total of 209 members of parliament attended the meeting.
The Prime Minister provided guidance on various public welfare programmes of the party and future course of action in the meeting.
Along with speedy implementation of the election pledge 'Family Card' programme, he urged everyone to be alert about starting canal excavation and dengue preventive cleanliness campaigns across the country.
Tarique Rahman said everyone must follow rules in daily life and commuting to office. Regular and punctual attendance at office is essential.
In the meeting, he called for special attention to be paid to the young members of the cabinet.
The responsibility of electing the new Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament was entrusted to the Prime Minister during the meeting. The election will be held at the beginning of the 13th Parliament session tomorrow, Thursday.
It is to be noted that after the parliamentary session begins, there will be a two-day break. The session will resume on March 15, and after Eid-ul-Fitr, the session will begin again on March 29.
