Earlier, the prime minister departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5:00 pm local time.

The prime minister's first visit to China is seen as significant, coming as the two countries enter a new phase of their diplomatic relationship — the 'Golden 50 Years'.
During his stay in Malaysia, Tarique Rahman held a bilateral meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, with an MoU and two agreements signed.
