PM busy at Secretariat on first working day after Eid
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is spending a busy time at the Secretariat since morning on the first working day after Eid. He entered the Secretariat at 9am on Tuesday (March 24).
According to Cabinet Division sources, Krishna Srinivasan, Director of the Asia and Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at the beginning of the day. After that, the Prime Minister will participate in a meeting on the country's economic situation and challenges.
He will participate in a special meeting at 11am on resolving the long-standing problem of 'traffic jams' in the capital and modernizing traffic management. In the afternoon, he will participate in a meeting to review the progress of the Foreign Employment Increase and Expatriate Welfare Committee. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will review the overall activities of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and later meet with officials of the Cabinet Division.
After a 7-day holiday, all government offices, banks, insurance and financial institutions, including the Bangladesh Secretariat, have reopened from today. Officials and employees are sharing the joy of Eid by exchanging greetings and hugging each other.
