PM decides to skip grand Iftar mahfil

Considering the overall situation in the country, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has decided to skip the usual grand Iftar mahfil this time. However, he will attend two Iftar mahfils at the State Guest House Jamuna in honor of diplomats and orphans, scholars and ulamas.

Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon said on Thursday that the Prime Minister will attend two mahfils organized on March 6 for diplomats and on March 7 in honor of orphans, scholars and ulamas.

He also said that the Iftar mahfils scheduled for politicians and media workers on March 8 and 10 have been canceled considering the overall situation.

Although Iftar mahfils are organized every year in honor of people from different classes and professions, this time the Prime Minister will have Iftar with his family at his home.
