On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman exchanged greetings with people from all walks of life at the state guest house Jamuna in Dhaka on Saturday (March 21). The event saw diplomats, academics, politicians, and citizens meeting the Prime Minister, with her spouse Zubaida Rahman also present. Crowds began arriving early to join the scheduled Eid greetings. Earlier in the morning, both President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah Ground at 8:30am, where thousands of worshippers participated. In conclusion, Special prayers were offered for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the country, the nation, and the Muslim Ummah.

পবিত্র ঈদুল ফিতর উপলক্ষে দেশের সর্বস্তরের মানুষের সঙ্গে ঈদের শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় করছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমান। শনিবার (২১ মার্চ) সকালে রাজধানীর রাষ্ট্রীয় অতিথি ভবন যমুনায় এ শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে কূটনীতিক, শিক্ষাবিদ, রাজনীতিবিদসহ বিভিন্ন শ্রেণি-পেশার মানুষ প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে ঈদের শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় করেন। এ সময় প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সহধর্মিণী জুবাইদা রহমান উপস্থিত ছিলেন। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় করতে নির্ধারিত সময়ের আগেই রাষ্ট্রীয় অতিথি ভবন যমুনা অভিমুখে মানুষের ঢল নামে। এর আগে সকালে রাজধানীর জাতীয় ঈদগাহ ময়দানে পবিত্র ঈদুল ফিতরের প্রধান জামাতে নামাজ আদায় করেন রাষ্ট্রপতি মোহাম্মদ শাহাবুদ্দিন ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমান। সকাল সাড়ে ৮টায় অনুষ্ঠিত ওই জামাতে বিপুলসংখ্যক মুসল্লি অংশ নেন। নামাজ শেষে দেশ, জাতি এবং মুসলিম উম্মাহর শান্তি, অগ্রগতি ও সমৃদ্ধি কামনা করে বিশেষ দোয়া করা হয়।
