PM exchanges greetings with protestant church leaders
Protestant Church leaders exchanged greetings with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on the occasion of the main religious festival of Christianity, Easter Sunday.
The courtesy call was held at the Prime Minister's Office of the Bangladesh Secretariat at the invitation of the Cabinet Division at 12:15pm on Sunday (April 5).
During the meeting, the Protestant Church delegation extended Easter Sunday greetings to the Prime Minister and presented a bouquet of flowers as a gift. The Prime Minister also extended festival greetings to the leaders of the Christian community and exchanged greetings with them.
During the exchange of greetings, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said, "Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. Here, people of all religions celebrate festivals with equal rights. The contribution of people of all communities in the development and progress of the country is undeniable." He also said, "Easter Sunday brings a message of peace, friendship and humanity. We are working together to build a discrimination-free and prosperous Bangladesh."
At the event, the Prime Minister wished the leaders of the Protestant Church good health and long life and offered special prayers for the peace and prosperity of the country. Senior officials of the Cabinet Division and top leaders of various levels of the Protestant Church were present at the event.
