PM expresses grief over death of 16 Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia factory fire

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed deep grief over the tragic death of 16 Bangladeshi nationals in a factory fire in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

In a condolence message on Monday, August 10, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families of the deceased and assured them of all necessary support.

Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibli said the Prime Minister is keeping constant watch over the matter. He has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Bangladesh Mission in Riyadh to work in coordination to bring the bodies of the deceased back to the country swiftly.

The Prime Minister has instructed the concerned ministries to take necessary steps to repatriate the bodies at the earliest. The Prime Minister's Office will provide all necessary assistance in this regard, his Press Secretary added.

It may be noted that on Sunday, 16 Bangladeshi nationals lost their lives in a devastating fire at a sofa manufacturing factory in the Musa Sanaiya industrial area under the Shifa police station in Riyadh.
