PM greets indigenous communities on 'Boisabi' festival

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended his warm greetings to the people of the hill communities on the occasion of Baisabi, a traditional social festival of the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

In a greeting message, he said that the main festivals of various hill communities around the Bengali New Year and Chaitra Sankranti—Biju, Sangrai, Baisu, Bishu, Changkran and Changlan—are an important part of the country's overall cultural heritage on Saturday (April 11).

The Prime Minister said that festivals of all communities, regardless of religion and caste, are an integral part of national life and these festivals bring peace, harmony and joy among the people of the country.

He expressed the hope that these festivals will further strengthen mutual goodwill and unity.

He also mentioned that the culture, tradition and history of various ethnic groups in the hill region have enriched the national heritage of Bangladesh. He also said that the government is committed to ensuring equal rights, security and development of all citizens of the country.

Finally, the Prime Minister expressed optimism that Baisavi and Bengali New Year will bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to everyone's lives.
